Several years ago, I drew some of the very first homeschooling cartoons and inserted them into my book, “Help! I’m Married to a Homeschooling Mom”. It didn’t take long before people said, “I love your cartoons…you should do more.” So I published the first of four volumes called, “The Official Book of Homeschooling Cartoons”. In fact, if you Google ‘homeschool cartoons,’ you’ll find lots and lots of my cartoons that have been passed around the world wide web. Right after publication of the first book, adults and kids started sending me their own cartoon creations. While many contained great ideas, most failed to accomplish what the artist intended…for them to be funny. That’s when I started thinking about what really makes cartoons funny. What I found was some simple elements that are evident in all cartoons and some simple principles that I'll share with you. So if you're an aspiring homeschool cartoonist, let's draw!
