Just What We Needed

Recently, after the birth of our second child 6 weeks ago, I found a women's devotional that has changed the way I think about being a mom. As I'm reading through it, I share parts with my husband who has repeatedly said, "I wish I had a book like that."
Then, I read a short excerpt from Todd's book. I thought, this sounded like what my husband was looking for. So I ordered a copy (with a $1 off coupon from Todd's article in The Homeschool Minute newsletter from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine).
It just arrived! As soon as my husband read the first few pages, he said, "This is just what I needed." We laughed together as moments of the first chapter corresponded to ways he has felt over the past few weeks (and some ways I have felt, too). Even though we're both still reading it, it has already helped us connect to each other's feelings and draw closer to our purpose as a family. This is a great book to read and reread when the hard times do come--because they always do. We love how real Todd is and how he can take the hard moments and draw us back to Christ. -
